International Bank of Azerbaijan attracts financing from Credit Suisse

The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA), which is largest in the country, expands external borrowings.
According to CEO of the bank Jakhangir Hajiyev, IBA will attract external financing in the amount of $300-400 million till the end of the year.
“In particular, $150 million will be raised from Credit Suisse,” J. Hajiyev said. External obligations of the bank do not exceed $800 million today.
“Perhaps, in 2011 the bank can carry out an issue of eurobonds, although, it would be more effective to do it after a sovereign issue of eurobonds, which would be given by benchmark on Azerbaijan bonds,” J. Hajiyev said.
